Youth and Children

Youth and child development in Pakistan is one of PPI’s priorities. Through local partnerships, we support learning, mentoring and opportunities for young people to contribute to community life.

Helping young people learn and take part

Young people need encouragement when deciding what to study, how to develop their skills and where they can contribute. PPI’s work includes mentoring, educational support and activities that connect personal development with service to others.

Our stories show different ways this support can take shape. Churches in South Punjab have mobilised resources for higher education, while youth gatherings in Hyderabad, Rahim Yar Khan and Faisalabad have created opportunities to meet and participate. Together, these examples place young people within the life of their communities.

Helping young people continue learning

Education and opportunity

Educational costs can make the next stage of study difficult to reach. PPI’s youth programme includes higher education support. Through CATCH in South Punjab, local churches have mobilised resources to help students from families facing financial constraints.

Learning with experienced and emerging leaders

Leadership and mentoring

Our leadership development approach makes room for the next generation. Mentoring and youth gatherings offer opportunities to build relationships and consider responsibility. The Pakistan Emerging Leaders’ Summit is one of the initiatives described in PPI’s youth programme.

Turning concern into practical involvement

Community participation

Through Youth Challenge, young people are encouraged to understand a community concern, work with others and explore a local response. A CATCH youth conference in Rahim Yar Khan also focused on the role young people can play in serving their neighbours.
