Organizational Development
PPI supports organizational capacity development in Pakistan through training, technical guidance and partnership. We help local organisations strengthen the systems and skills behind their work with communities.
Stronger organisations for better community support
Community organisations bring commitment and local knowledge to their work. They also need dependable management, clear responsibilities and the ability to plan beyond an individual project. PPI supports partners through organisational development, mentoring and opportunities to learn together.
Our approach connects the needs of an organisation with practical learning. Initiatives have included proposal writing in Multan and the Transforming Local Capacities training programme. This work sits alongside our leadership development programme, linking the growth of institutions with the people responsible for guiding them.
- Governance and management support
- Staff learning based on identified needs

Understanding strengths and development needs
Organisational systems
Organisational due diligence helps PPI and its partners understand strengths and gaps in governance and internal systems. Development planning and technical support create a practical basis for addressing those needs and improving how an organisation carries out its mission.
Training shaped by partner priorities
People and skills
Staff learning needs differ across organisations. The Transforming Local Capacities programme used partner meetings and needs assessments to inform its training calendar. That approach connects professional development with the practical responsibilities teams face in their own settings.
Communicating plans and finding support
Resources and partnerships
Good ideas need clear proposals and an understanding of potential supporters. A PPI and REEDS workshop in Multan covered donor mapping, problem analysis and proposal preparation, giving partner teams practical experience in explaining the work they wanted to carry forward.
Capacity development projects and highlights
These published activities show how partner learning and organisational collaboration have been put into practice.
Proposal writing in Multan
PPI and REEDS organised a workshop covering proposal development, donor mapping and problem analysis. The article describes sessions held in November 2023, with staff attending from organisations across four provinces.
Transforming Local Capacities
The published 2023 to 2024 training calendar was shaped by meetings and needs assessments with partner organisations. It provides an example of planning learning around identified organisational priorities.
Learning to work in a consortium
A December 2022 update records a learning activity on working effectively in a consortium. Its focus connects directly with PPI’s emphasis on partnerships between local organisations.
Humanitarian quality and accountability
A PPI training facilitated by Community World Service Asia brought church and NGO participants together around the Core Humanitarian Standard. The account was published in April 2024.
